Ampere Launches Nexus Electric Scooters; Distribution will Begin in Bangalore.

Ampere received a strong response from clients after initiating bookings for the Nexus for a modest charge of Rs 9,999 last month.

Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), Greaves Cotton Limited’s electric mobility business, has begun shipping the Ampere Nexus electric scooter just over a month after its introduction.

This event marked the company’s 16th anniversary. According to accounts, the delivery began in Bengaluru.

Ampere’s most recent model, the Ampere Nexus, represents the company’s first foray into the high-performance family electric scooter market, and it was entirely conceived, developed, and manufactured in India. The tiered delivery method ensures that all customers who ordered the Nexus scooter will receive their goods on schedule in June.

Ampere reported a great response from clients after commencing bookings for the Nexus for a low fee of Rs 9,999 last month. According to a press release issued on June 5, K Vijaya Kumar, executive director and CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited, expressed his satisfaction in honouring Ampere’s 16th anniversary with the start of Nexus deliveries.

The Nexus is equipped with a 3kWh LFP battery and a certified range of 136km, according to the company. The power comes from a mid-mounted motor with a peak output of 4kWh; the manufacturer claims a top speed of 93kph. The advertised charge time is 3.3 hours, and Ampere also has a rapid charging option that cuts charging time even further.

The Nexus is offered in two variants: EX and ST. The EX starts at Rs 1,09,900, while the ST costs Rs 1,19,900 (ex-showroom). The former includes a 6.2-inch LCD, while the latter includes a 7-inch touchscreen TFT dash.

In addition to a hill-hold function and three riding modes, the scooter includes reverse. The Ampere Nexus is available in four brilliant colours: Indian Red, Lunar White, Zanskar Aqua, and Steel Grey.

According to the India Book of Records, the Ampere Nexus broke four records when it travelled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari earlier this year. This excursion covered more than 10,000 kilometres, making it the longest electric scooter ride
in a single trip. Furthermore, the journey established a record for visiting 115 cities and towns in one continuous ride.
