The new Bounce Infinity E1X is priced between Rs 55,000 and Rs 59,000, ex-showroom, and is meant to accommodate battery-swapping technology. The company claims that the new electric scooter has an average energy cost of around Rs 1-Rs 1.5 per kilometer.
The Bounce Infinity E1X is a new battery-swappable version of the company’s popular Infinity E1 scooter. The Infinity E1X, priced beginning from Rs 55,000 to Rs 59,000 ex-showroom, offers energy charges ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 1.5 per kilometer, depending on usage and the swapping operator, according to the manufacturer.
The Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer claims to be the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to homologate and debut a scooter specifically intended for battery changing. The newly released Infinity E1X will be available for purchase in India starting in June 2024. The company also states that the new EV is compatible with major battery-swapping networks in India and has the ability to adapt to additional networks as they emerge. The new scooters are designed to function with numerous battery-swapping networks, requiring just minor
modifications for integration.
Bounce has two-speed variations for the battery-swappable models: one with a top speed of up to 55 km/h and another reaching 65 km/h. Furthermore, Bounce is working on a speedier variant with a top speed of 92 km/h to meet the
minimum speed criteria for specific export markets; however, no further information about the future model is available at this time.
Speaking about the launch, Vivekananda Halle, CEO and Co-founder of Bounce Infinity, commented, that India is the world’s second-largest two-wheeler market, but the true benefits of electric vehicles have yet to be realized. EVs can enable a lot
of innovation, including making automobiles cheaper. One such benefit is that the battery is separated from the vehicle and the user just needs to pay the scooter’s upfront cost. The E1X is designed to automatically connect to any battery-swapping network with little changes.
The battery-swapping feature is especially useful for customers who travel large distances daily since it allows them to replace drained batteries with fully charged ones at network stations. This eliminates the concern about charging hours and locations, allowing for longer excursions.
