The automaker already has plans to introduce a less expensive option for customers, even though the Polestar 3 is anticipated to go on sale in the US in the upcoming months.
A few months ago, Polestar 3 production started in Chengdu, China, in April. Additional production in South Carolina is scheduled to begin in mid-2024. In the US, Polestar has already finished its early production testing with success.

With an EPA range of up to 300 miles, the entry-level Long-Range Dual Motor was anticipated to start at $83,900. But Polestar said in March that all trims would now come with a Pilot Pack as standard, with a revised starting MSRP of $73,400.
Polestar anticipates that in the second quarter of 2024, deliveries of the standard Long-Range Dual Motor will start.
The business also disclosed that leases on the Polestar 3 qualify for the $7,500 Polestar Clean Vehicle Incentive, which could result in payments as low as $65,900.

With an estimated 315 EPA miles of range, Polestar’s Long Rang Dual Motor model can produce up to 489 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque.
The Polestar 3 with Performance Pack costs $79,400 and offers more performance. This increases output to 671 lb-ft of torque and 517 horsepower, allowing for a 4.6-second sprint from 0 to 60 mpg. In addition, there are 22-inch performance wheels, Swedish Gold highlights, and chassis tuning designed by Polestar.

Polestar said that a more affordable Polestar 3 will become the new entry-level model in the portfolio by year’s end.
The single-motor version of the Polestar 3 will be available later this year, according to Brent Ellis, worldwide head of communications at Polestar.

Polestar’s product manager informed Drive that the RWD variant will employ the same 180 kW (241 horsepower) rear electric motor as the AWD Long Range Dual Motor model, even though specifics and price have not yet been disclosed.
The RWD model will have a 111 kWh battery pack, which should have a longer range than the other trims.
